Drink Local Beer at Turtle's!

As mentioned in my previous blog, Turtle's is excited to have it's new Minnesota beer only tap tower up and running.  It will always feature 4 Minnesota brewed beers and the lineup will change frequently.  There are exciting things happening in the MN beer industry, with new breweries popping up left and right.  That means more opportunities for beer lovers to explore their passion for beer while supporting local businesses and strengthening neighborhood economies.

Brau Brothers brewery is located in Lucan, MN and has a great stable of a wide variety of brews.  We are featuring their Ring Neck Braun at the moment, but will delve into some of their other tasty products throughout this year.   The Ring Neck is a double nut brown which is dry, fruity and yet drinkable. Nutty flavor is derived from both biscuit malt and toasted oats.  A hint of raspberry and classic British hops round out this mild and complex brown ale.

Longbeard Winter Wheat is a very limited run.  A unique American Lager, almost black with a nice mahogany head, the large dose of wheat gives Longbeard body but allows it a light taste. The dark roasted malt gives way to a slight wooden note and makes this dark beer almost drink light. Designed for the between season when winter gives way to spring.

Two Summit beers are also featured.  Summit Maibock: This traditional German style earned the nickname “liquid bread” because it was brewed by monks to help them get through Lenten fasting. Moravian 37 malts and Czech Saaz hops give it a toasted sweetness with a little spice in the finish. Summit Oatmeal Stout: While its cascading rich black color will be familiar to Stout enthusiasts, ours is decidedly different. It's made with naked oats from the UK, for one. Smooth and slightly sweet, with hints of coffee, caramel and chocolate. Sold only on draught in select places.

Grainbelt Nordeast is probably a familiar beer to most.  It is brewed by the Schell's brewery in New Ulm and is already a very popular MN beer.  Grain Belt Nordeast is an American Amber lager and is the newest member to the Grain Belt Family. It has a light maltiness and hop aroma with a mild bitterness. Smooth taste with an excellent drinkability.

Stop in to Turtle's and have a MN brewed beer today!  Check back often as they will rotate regularly and feature exciting new MN brews!
