New things for 2012

Well 2012 is here and it's time to move past the holiday frame of mind and get back down to business.  It looks to be an economically better year than 2011 as several indicators of the economy's health seem to be improving.  In talking to fellow business owners, it feels as though we are on our way back in some ways from the hole that was dug over the last couple of years.  We'll have to wait and see and just keep plugging away.

Turtle's has some exciting new things planned.  We will be updating and changing the menu a little bit over the coming few weeks.  There will be some additions and deletions and we are very excited about some new items we are kicking around.  A fantastic new chop salad is in the works and we are also looking at adding a hand breaded Talapia sandwich to complement our already popular beer battered Walleye sandwich.  The Talapia will be breaded differently than the Walleye, so you will have two distinctive fish sandwiches to choose from.  We will also be adding a seafood option to our Fettucini Alfredo and there is a seafood pizza in the works.  Another thing we are investigating is changing our chicken strips from a frozen product to a homemade hand breaded fresh chicken strip.  I sampled one today and it was delicious; tender, juicy and bigger than the ones we are currently serving.

Another thing we are working on is trying to apply our inside out, buy local, purchasing policy to our beer selection.  With so many great beers being produced by our local breweries, it just makes sense to buy their products and support them.  This keeps dollars in our communities and if done on a large scale by many businesses, can have a profound effect on our local economies.  We will be adding another 4 product tap tower in the main bar that will feature ONLY Minnesota brewed beers.  Look for a Schell's product and a Summit product on this tower, as well as some lesser known local brews by some breweries you may not be familiar with.  We are very excited to add to our already solid selection of tap beers!

I wish each and every one of you a happy and fresh start to the new year!  Bring on January and February..........we're probably due for a little blast of cold considering what an easy start to the winter we've had.  We'll keep the heat on, the grill fired up and the cocktails flowing.  Stop in and say hi!

Cheers
